The Implementation of Character Education through Integrated Social Science Learning in Shaping Social Character of Junior High School Students

This study aims to determine the implementation of character education through integrated social science learning in shaping social character in junior high school students. The research method used descriptive qualitative research. This research was conducted at Al Hasib Junior High School, Pakis District, Malang Regency in 2022. Data collection used interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis used the analysis model developed by Miles & Huberman, consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Checking the validity of the data using triangulation of time and techniques. The results revealed that the school policy in shaping students' social character through Integrated Social Science Learning is carried out by developing three school programs, namely (1) curriculum; (2) activities; (3) evaluation; (4) implementation of character pillars. The research conclusion reveals that. the implementation of character education and assessing the character of students through programs and policies made by AL Hasib Junior High School in general has implemented several provisions based on the provisions of the Ministry of Education and Culture. This research contributes as a consideration for schools in formulating policies on the implementation of character education in schools, as well as information on knowledge about the concept of character education in schoolsReferences
